Sonia P. Soto

     Sonia P. Soto hosts the women-empowerment show, WAGI (an acronym for Women are Great Inspirations) for which she won Best Public Affairs Program Host in the 17th KBP Golden Dove Awards in 2008.   She also helms the public affairs program, So to Speak, which earned the 20th KBP Golden Dove Award for Best Public Affairs Program (Provincial Category).

 

     Nationalism and the movement for sovereignty has been the way of life of Sonia Soto. As a human rights advocate, working with both NGO's and the government, and immersed in the political movements of the 70s, she grew in the tribulations of a people yearning for democracy, freedom and justice. This gained her knowledge and expertise on various social, economic and political issues.

 

     Soto is actively involved in various local and international organizations. She is presently the Deputy Executive Director of the Multi-Sectoral Governance Council of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, and an associate fellow of the Institute for Solidarity for Asia.
