The Doctor is in!
“Dok, ano po ba ang mga pagkaing dapat iwasan upang hindi magkasakit sa bato?” “Madilaw ang ihi ko, dok, may problema na ba ako sa katawan?”
These are just a few of the questions that the doctors willingly answer in the medical program, “OK SI DOK,” which is known as the “libreng kunsultahan ng bayan.”
“OK SI DOK” is a venue for discussing and disseminating vital information to the public about health issues which directly affect the lives Filipinos. It tackles the pressing health concerns of Juan de la Cruz using a friendly and easy-to-understand approach and dispenses advice geared to promote healthier living.
Doctor couple William and Salve Olalia host the medical show. Dr. William is one of the founding members of the Philippine Association of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgeons and is presently an associate professor at the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. His wife, Dr. Salve, is currently the director of the UST Health Service.
Learn about topics ranging from medical problems in the brain, like migraines and headaches, to the heart, such as hypertension and heart disease, and down to the ailments of the legs and feet, like arthritis and fractures. As they say, an ounce of prevention is always better than a pound of cure—and what better way to prevent diseases than to stay informed by watching OK SI DOK. This show also sets you straight as it debunks medical myths and superstitions.
